Dr Rebecca Kraivixien Pitts has been in practice for over 25 years. Since early childhood, she has always had passion and talent in both art and science. Dr Pitts knew at 11 years of age that she wanted to be a cosmetic dentist.

Upon graduating Valedictorian from high school, she took the highly competitive university entrance exam and succeeded with the highest score in securing her seat in one of the worlds most prestigious dental schools – the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. She completed the school’s six-year program and received her D.D.S. degree.

Dr Pitts immediately started practicing as an associate dentist while completing a one-year post-doctoral residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Chulalongkorn University. She was then invited as a clinical instructor in the department of prosthodontics. Meanwhile, she remained in private practice until she left to further her education at the prestigious Goldman School of Dentistry at Boston University.

With focused interest in fixed prosthodontics, cosmetic and restorative dentistry; Dr Pitts chose to pursue the rare five-year graduate program in Advanced Restorative Dentistry at Boston University. The program, which is the Ph.D. of dentistry, required extensive clinical training as well as a dissertation on biomaterial research. Because of her passion in cosmetic dentistry, for her research, she chose to conduct several studies on a wide range of important topics involving cosmetic restorative materials such as dentin bonding, ceramic bonding, ceramic materials and CEREC restorations. The results from her studies presented in her dissertation, were selected by the American / International Association for Dental Research for oral presentation during various national and international conferences.

Upon completion of the program, Dr Pitts was awarded the Doctor of Science in Dentistry Degree (D.Sc.D.) in Advanced Restorative Dentistry.

In addition, Dr Pitts was also granted her D.M.D. degree from Boston University.

Fewer than one percent of all dentist in the world have achieved these professional degrees.

Dr Rebecca Pitts now maintains a successful cosmetic practice in Central Florida. The Orlando magazine recently featured her again as the top cosmetic dentists in Orlando as voted by her peers. She constantly raises her own bar and challenges herself to the next level. As a perpetual student, she enjoys reading and attending continuing education courses, which keep her up to date and allow her to provide the best care modern dentistry has to offer.

Dr Pitts has taught clinical dentistry to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students and has given numerous lectures and hands on courses on cosmetic dentistry and dental materials to practicing dentists.

Outside the world of dentistry, Dr Pitts loves spending time with her husband, Charles Pitts, their Persian cat, Tuffy and adopted Greyhound, Lacie. A few of her hobbies include: decorating, graphic designing, painting, drawing, calligraphy, reading, swimming, and target shooting.
